Genuine Bullfrog Simplicity® Flat Filters for Easier Spa Maintenance
Keep your compatible Bullfrog Spa filtering properly with genuine Bullfrog Spas Simplicity Flat Filters. This package includes four replacement filters designed specifically for spas equipped with the Bullfrog Simplicity Filtration System.
The space-saving flat design allows the entire available filter-media surface to be used instead of wrapping the media around a cylindrical plastic core. Bullfrog describes the result as a convenient, efficient, and plastic-free filtration design.
Simplicity filters can be rinsed with a garden hose for continued use or replaced when cleaning is no longer convenient or effective. Bullfrog recommends cleaning or replacing the filter every four weeks and installing a new filter at least every 12–16 weeks, even when it is rinsed regularly.
🧩 Compatibility & Fitment
Fits all Bullfrog M Series models, all Bullfrog Swim Series models, and Bullfrog A Series spas manufactured in 2023 or later.
These filters do not fit Bullfrog A Series spas manufactured in 2022 or earlier, R Series, X Series, or STIL spas that use cylindrical filter cartridges.

📋 How to Use
1. Confirm Compatibility
- Verify that the spa currently uses a flat Bullfrog Simplicity filter.
- Confirm that the spa is an M Series, Swim Series, or 2023-and-newer A Series model.
- Do not order based solely on the Bullfrog brand name. Other Bullfrog series and model years use different cylindrical filters.
2. Turn Off the Spa
- Turn off the spa’s main power at the disconnect or circuit breaker.
- Do not remove or reinstall the filter assembly while the spa’s pumps are operating.
3. Remove the Filter Holder
- Remove the JetPak positioned in front of the Simplicity filter housing. This is normally the first JetPak to the right of the main control.
- Reach down into the JetPak pod and grasp the handle on the Simplicity filter holder.
- Push the holder toward the inside of the spa and lift it out of the housing.
- Place the assembly on a clean, flat surface with the filter facing upward.
4. Remove the Used Filter
- Compress the filter pleats and push the filter forward.
- Lift the edge of the filter past the retaining tab.
- Lift the filter out of the holder.
- Inspect the holder and remove any accumulated hair, leaves, or other debris.
5. Clean or Replace the Filter
For routine cleaning, use a garden hose and nozzle to spray along the pleats from one side of the filter to the other. Rinse thoroughly until loose debris has been removed.
Replace the filter if the media remains clogged, greasy, discolored, damaged, misshapen, or difficult to clean. Even with regular rinsing, Bullfrog recommends installing a new Simplicity filter at least every 12–16 weeks.
6. Install the Filter
- Position the replacement filter with its glue lines facing upward.
- Slide one end of the filter underneath the holder’s retaining tabs.
- Press the remaining filter media inward and downward until it is securely tucked into the frame.
- Confirm that the filter is completely seated and is not folded over the edge of the holder.
7. Reinstall the Filter Holder
- Place the bottom of the filter-holder assembly into the housing with the handle facing upward.
- Use a backward-and-downward motion to snap the assembly securely into place.
- Reinstall the JetPak.
- Restore power to the spa.
- Confirm that normal circulation and water flow resume.
💬 Southern Leisure Says
Do not wait for cloudy water or a low-flow warning before checking your Simplicity filter. Inspect it every four weeks and clean or replace it sooner following heavy spa use or exposure to lotions, body oils, leaves, and other unusual contamination.
A garden-hose rinse can extend the filter’s useful life, but it does not make the filter permanent. Oils and fine contamination eventually remain embedded in the media, reducing its effectiveness even when the surface appears reasonably clean.
Before ordering, confirm that your spa uses the flat Simplicity filter. Bullfrog A Series spas from 2022 and earlier use a different cylindrical filter, while A Series spas manufactured from 2023 forward use this flat design.

- Turn off the spa’s main power before removing the filter holder.
- Use a garden hose and nozzle for routine cleaning.
- Spray along the filter pleats from one side to the other.

- Do not use a pressure washer or excessively concentrated spray.
- Do not scrub the filter media with a stiff brush.
- Do not use household soap or cleaning products that could create foam.
- Do not reinstall a torn, crushed, deformed, or deteriorated filter.
- Keep the filter holder and surrounding intake free of debris.

Will these fit a 2022-or-earlier Bullfrog A Series spa?
No. Bullfrog A Series spas manufactured in 2022 or earlier use cylindrical filter cartridges. Confirm the model year and existing filter style before ordering.
Will these fit Bullfrog R Series, X Series, or STIL spas?
No. Those series use different cylindrical filter cartridges. This product is specifically designed for spas equipped with the flat Bullfrog Simplicity Filtration System.
Are these genuine Bullfrog filters?
Yes. These are genuine Bullfrog Spas Simplicity replacement filters, manufacturer part number 10-00814.
How many filters are included?
Each package contains four individual Simplicity flat filters.
Does the filter holder come with the package?
No. This package includes four replacement filters only. The Simplicity filter holder, housing, JetPak, chemicals, and sanitizer products are not included.
Can these filters be cleaned?
Yes. Spray along the pleats from one side of the filter to the other using a garden hose and nozzle. Rinse the filter thoroughly before reinstalling it.
Can I replace the filter instead of cleaning it?
Yes. Bullfrog designed Simplicity filters so owners can rinse them for continued use or replace them when cleaning is inconvenient or no longer effective.
How often should I clean or replace the filter?
Bullfrog recommends cleaning or replacing the filter every four weeks or sooner when needed. Heavy spa use, lotions, body oils, leaves, and other contamination may require more frequent maintenance.
How often should I install a new filter?
Even with regular rinsing, Bullfrog recommends installing a new Simplicity filter at least every 12–16 weeks. Difficult water conditions or heavy use may require earlier replacement.
Can I clean the filter with a pressure washer?
A garden hose and nozzle are recommended. Avoid pressure washers or excessively concentrated sprays that could tear, separate, or deform the pleated filter media.
Can I use household soap to clean the filter?
No. Household soaps and cleaners may leave residue that causes foaming or other water-quality problems. Use only cleaning methods or spa-filter products approved for the filter media, and rinse thoroughly afterward.
Which direction should the filter face?
Install the filter in its holder with the glue lines facing upward. Slide one end underneath the retaining tabs and press the remaining media inward and downward until it is securely seated in the frame.
Why is my water still cloudy after replacing the filter?
A new filter can improve debris removal, but cloudy water may also be caused by improper sanitizer levels, unbalanced water, insufficient circulation, heavy organic contamination, dirty plumbing, or old water. Filtration does not replace proper water balance, sanitation, and oxidation.
