Deep Clean the Hot Tub Plumbing You Cannot See
Give your hot tub a cleaner start at every water change with FROG® Hot Tub Pipe & Jet Cleanser. This professional-grade concentrated gel penetrates deep into spa plumbing to loosen and remove hidden oils, lotions, grime, organic waste, and other buildup that routine sanitizing cannot reach.
The convenient single-use packet is premeasured for hot tubs containing up to 600 gallons. Simply add the complete packet to the existing spa water, circulate it through the pipes and jets for up to 30 minutes, and then drain, rinse, and refill the hot tub.
FROG Pipe & Jet Cleanser is compatible with all common hot tub sanitizing systems. It is intended as a pre-drain plumbing treatment—not as a sanitizer, shock, clarifier, or product that remains in the fresh water.

📋 How to Use
- Plan to drain the hot tub immediately after completing the treatment.
- Leave the existing water in the spa and confirm that the water level is high enough for normal jet operation.
- Remove the filter cartridge from its installed position and allow it to float in the spa water as directed by FROG.
- Remove the spa headrests or pillows whenever possible.
- Remove floating chemical dispensers and removable sanitizer cartridges before treatment.
- Open all jets, diverter valves, waterfalls, and other water features.
- Turn on all pumps and jets.
- Cut open the packet at the marked location and add the entire contents to the existing spa water.
- Circulate the cleanser through the plumbing for up to 30 minutes or for the time specified on the product label.
- Turn off power to the hot tub before beginning to drain it.
- Skim or remove released debris from the water’s surface.
- Begin draining the hot tub.
- As the water level drops, continuously rinse and wipe the shell to prevent loosened residue from drying on the surface.
- Once empty, clean the shell and waterline with a gentle spa-surface cleaner.
- Rinse the shell thoroughly so no cleanser or loosened residue remains.
- Rinse and clean the filter cartridge before reinstalling it. Replace the filter if it cannot be cleaned adequately.
- Refill the hot tub following the spa manufacturer’s instructions.
- Balance the fresh water before restarting the sanitizer system.
Important: Foam, discoloration, flakes, scum, or other residue may appear while the cleanser circulates. This can occur as hidden buildup is released from the plumbing and is one reason the treatment water must be drained.
💬 Southern Leisure Says
Changing the water does not automatically clean the plumbing. Oils, lotions, cosmetics, and other contaminants can remain inside the pipes after the old water has been drained. Once the spa is refilled, that residue may begin circulating through the fresh water again.
We recommend using FROG Pipe & Jet Cleanser during routine water changes, especially when the spa has recurring water-quality problems. The premeasured packet makes it easy to complete one plumbing purge without measuring or storing an opened container.
🧼 Care & Maintenance

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What does FROG Pipe & Jet Cleanser remove?
It is formulated to loosen oils, lotions, grime, organic waste, and other hidden buildup from inside hot tub pipes and jets.
Is this product a sanitizer or shock?
No. It is a pre-drain plumbing cleanser. The hot tub still requires an appropriate sanitizer after it has been drained, refilled, and balanced.
How much water does one packet treat?
One complete single-use packet treats a hot tub containing up to 600 gallons.
Do I use the entire packet?
Yes. The packet is premeasured for one complete treatment. No measuring or mixing is required.
How long should I circulate the cleanser?
Run the pumps and jets for up to 30 minutes or for the treatment time stated on the packet.
Do I have to drain the spa afterward?
Yes. The treatment is added to the existing water immediately before draining. Do not leave the cleanser in fresh water that you intend to use.
Should I remove the filter?
Yes. FROG directs users to remove the filter from its installed position and allow it to float in the treatment water. Rinse and clean the filter thoroughly before reinstalling it.
Why should I remove the spa pillows?
Removing the pillows or headrests helps protect them from loosened residue and prolonged exposure to the concentrated treatment water.
Why did the water begin foaming or developing scum?
Foam, scum, discoloration, or released debris can appear as hidden buildup is loosened from the plumbing. Skim the released material and wipe the shell continuously while draining.
Can I use it with FROG @ease, chlorine, or bromine?
Yes. The cleanser is compatible with all common hot tub sanitizing systems. Remove floating dispensers and removable cartridges before treatment, then restart the sanitizer system after refilling and balancing the spa.
How often should I use it?
FROG recommends using it every three to four months or whenever the hot tub is drained and refilled. Heavy-use spas or spas experiencing recurring water problems may benefit from treatment at every water change.
Can I use it in a used hot tub?
Yes. Purging the plumbing is strongly recommended before the first fresh fill of a previously owned hot tub because the condition of the internal plumbing may be unknown.
Can this packet treat a swim spa?
This single-use packet is sized for up to 600 gallons, so it is generally intended for hot tubs. Larger hot tubs and swim spas require the properly measured multi-use tube version.
